[LIVE BLOG] Opening Worship

4/27/12 @ 2:50 Opening Worship [LIVE BLOG] Opening worship is a moving experience! Pastor Kate Warn spoke of the situation in Sierra Leonne, we celebrated with our "DiscipleLife" song (i.e. "Disciples on the Move"), and we enjoyed a worship experience that really sets the tone for the weekend. Here is an excerpt from one of the prayers: "Loving God, we pray that you would energize us, our congregations, and our mission area... Open our eyes and hearts to see and share our love with those around us." Amen!

    Pastor Kate Warn's very meaningful sermon was a highlight of today for me. She spoke of the "wilderness road" that Philip found himself on with the Ethiopian eunich who asked for Baptism. "Mission always dislocates us," she said. How do we respond to the query, "What is to prevent me (fill in the blank)?" Is it the old We've never done it that way before? Challenging.
